This recipe makes enough for a 25cm cake

Ingredients

Chocolate Batter
  • 1 tbsp Instant Coffee
  • 25g Cocoa Powder
  • 75g Water
  • 2.5 Bananas
Cake Batter
  • 65g Butter
  • 100g Brown Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 150g Flour
  • 5g Cocoa Powder
  • 1/2tsp Baking Soda
  • 1 1/2 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1/2tsp Salt
  • 100g Chocolate Chips

Instructions

Chocolate Batter
  1. Place all the ingredients apart from the bananas in a pot and bring to a simmer on low heat
  2. Whisk all the ingredients together until smooth
  3. Chop up the bananas and add them to the chocolate mixture
  4. Set aside
Cake Batter
  1. Preheat the oven to 160°C
  2. Cream the butter and sugar together for around 5mins until well combined and fluffy
  3. Add the eggs by one mixing well in between each addition
  4. Add the chocolate banana mixture and mix until incorporated
  5. Whisk the dry ingredients together
  6. Add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture
  7. Add the chocolate chips
  8. Bake at 160°C for 35-40mins
